The first International meeting of TESI (Trieste Encounters on Science and Innovation), the operative tool established by the Fondazione Internazionale Trieste (FIT) to stimulate innovative ideas and create a synergistic network in preparation to ESOF2020 Trieste, will take place on 15th and 16th March 2018 at the Hydrodynamics Station in Trieste. After an official presentation with the representatives of local institutions and renowned International speakers, amongst which the General Secretary of EuroScience, Peter Tindemans, a more operational session will take place to pave the way to new collaborations amongst Science Centers and Science Museums of the Central and Eastern European countries. On March the 15th, in the morning, there will be a round table featuring representatives of the MAECI, the JRC, the Conference of Rectors of Alpe Adria, the Danube Rectors' Conference, the Association of European Universities and a Dean representing the Universities of the Triveneto region.
A more technical meeting on science communication is scheduled for the afternoon of the 15th and the morning of the16th: there will be about fifteen leading exponents of Science Centers, Science Museums and other organizations promoting “Science & Society” programs coming from Italy, Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic and Slovenia.
Two other International meetings are scheduled for April and May: Science Diplomacy and large scientific infrastructures are the topics to be addressed.
