The second International Meeting by TESI (Trieste Encounters on Science and Innovation), will be held on the
18th – 19th June in Trieste. This event will bring together members of the academic world and representatives of both National and International institutions to highlight the
impact, access and future perspectives of research infrastractures (RIs) in Trieste and Eastern Europe.
“This two-day meeting is going to be a laboratory to gather new ideas and to discuss about potential issues related to RIs” says Bruno Della Vedova, Scientific Programme Manager di
ESOF 2020, who has organised this event in the frame of proESOF 2020 “Towards ESOF 2020 Trieste”.
On June the 18th, a set of meetings and discussions will take place at the
Hydrodynamics Station and at the Sottostazione Elettrica in Porto Vecchio, followed by a tour visit of the SISSA/ICTP High Performance computer (Miramare) and ELETTRA synchrotone (Basovizza).
On the second day, official greetings by the Major of Trieste Roberto di Piazza and by the Regional Councilor Alessia Rosolen will be followed by three round tables featuring representatives of the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR), the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN), the National Institute of Astrophysics, the European Commission, Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, Fiume University and local scientific institutions.
Key topics to be addressed by this meeting are low carbon economy, sustainable development, high performance computing, big data.
